Pakistan Nursing Council Allegedly Sending Nurses Abroad on Fake Degrees

ISLAMABAD WEB DESK ….The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Health has expressed serious concerns over alleged irregularities in the Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC), with accusations of human trafficking and issuing fake degrees.
During a meeting chaired by Mahesh Kumar Malani, committee member Agha Rafiullah alleged that the PNC is involved in sending nurses abroad using fraudulent degrees.
Committee member Shazia Sobia revealed that three nursing groups have already been deported from Dubai, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia due to fake degrees. Another member, Alia Kamran, claimed that the PNC has been threatening committee members, further complicating investigations. She added that the council had obtained a stay order from the court, making it difficult to take action against them.
Health Minister Mustafa Kamal assured the committee that a full investigation would be conducted into the matter. He condemned the inappropriate language allegedly used by the PNC against Agha Rafiullah and emphasized that he would not remain silent on this issue.
Agha Rafiullah further alleged that fake nursing colleges are also involved in human trafficking and claimed that the PNC has misled the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding its credentials.
Minister Mustafa Kamal informed the committee that a letter had been sent to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) regarding Farzana Zulfiqar’s alleged fake degree. He assured that the committee would be kept updated on developments.
The committee decided that the next meeting would focus solely on PNC’s irregularities and possible actions against those responsible.
