Sweden Announces Date to Resume Visa Services in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD web desk …The Swedish Migration Agency has announced that starting April 9, it will resume processing residence and work permit cases in Pakistan.
This means applicants who need to provide biometric data, verify their passports, or attend interviews will once again be able to do so at the Swedish Embassy in Islamabad.
The update applies to individuals applying to move to Sweden for work, studies, or to join a family member.
Pakistani citizens and legal residents of Pakistan who have already been instructed by the Swedish Migration Agency to complete these steps can now visit the embassy in Islamabad instead of traveling to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — a previous requirement that has now been dropped.
However, the changes do not affect those applying for short-term Schengen visas to visit Sweden.
Applicants seeking a visa for visits up to 90 days must still submit their applications to VFS Global offices in various Asian cities such as Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta, or Kuala Lumpur.
These applications are forwarded to the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok for processing.
The Swedish Migration Agency is currently assessing the possibility of restarting Schengen visa services within Pakistan and will release updates once a decision is made.
