Balochistan to Operate Pink Buses for Women in Two Cities

QUETTA by Nadeem Bangash….In a significant step toward improving public transportation in Balochistan, the provincial government has acquired 21 brand-new pink and green buses to serve the cities of Quetta and Turbat. The initiative aims to expand access to reliable and safe public transport, especially for women.

Public Transport Expansion in Quetta and Turbat

According to the transport department, twelve green and five pink buses will be deployed across Quetta, while Turbat will receive four green buses. The pink buses are specially designated for women passengers, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing female safety and travel convenience.

The new buses are expected to be operational within the next two months. As part of this development, officials also confirmed an expansion in the number of public transport routes within Quetta. One of the new routes will cover approximately 32 kilometers, connecting the Assistant Commissioner’s office in Kuchlak to Mianghundi in Saryab.
