Federal Minister Rana Tanveer chairs high-level meeting with Chinese delegation.

Islamabad – Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Rana Tanveer Hussain, on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting with a visiting Chinese delegation to discuss avenues of mutual cooperation in education, skills development, and technology exchange.

The meeting brought together senior officials from both sides, with the Chinese delegation highlighting Beijing’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties through educational collaboration and vocational training programs.

Speaking at the occasion, Rana Tanveer emphasized the importance of fostering people-to-people connections between Pakistan and China. He noted that while the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had already laid the groundwork for infrastructure and energy cooperation, the next phase required enhanced focus on human resource development.

“Education and skills are the backbone of any nation’s progress. Pakistan is eager to learn from China’s successful models in technical and vocational training, as well as research and innovation,” he said.

The Chinese delegation expressed readiness to expand scholarship opportunities for Pakistani students, introduce joint research projects between universities, and set up advanced training centers in technical fields. They also underscored the significance of cultural exchanges to promote greater understanding between the youth of both countries.

Both sides agreed to formulate a joint working group that will finalize concrete proposals in the coming months. The initiatives are expected to create long-term benefits by equipping Pakistan’s workforce with modern skills and strengthening the strategic partnership between Islamabad and Beijing.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with the two sides reaffirming their commitment to deepening educational cooperation as a cornerstone of Pakistan-China friendship.
