The forecasts indicate that weather patterns may bring temporary disruptions, particularly in northern and mountainous regions.

Officials from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated that heavy rainfall is likely in parts of central and northern Punjab, while KP and Balochistan could see scattered rain and snow at higher altitudes. Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution, especially travelers, farmers, and residents in flood-prone or hilly areas. “We advise the public to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions, as some roads may become slippery or blocked due to snowfall and waterlogging,” a PMD spokesperson said.

Local administrations are coordinating with disaster management authorities to ensure that emergency services, drainage systems, and relief measures are ready in case of flash floods or traffic disruptions. Farmers are being advised to safeguard crops and livestock, while city officials are monitoring drainage systems to prevent urban flooding in low-lying areas.

The upcoming weather is expected to bring relief to regions facing water scarcity, particularly in southern Punjab and Balochistan, where reservoirs and dams have recorded lower-than-average levels. However, officials caution that sudden heavy rain can also lead to localized flooding, landslides, and power outages, emphasizing the need for preparedness.

Religious authorities have also advised mosques and worshippers to remain mindful of safety while performing congregational prayers and outdoor activities during the early days of Ramazan. Public awareness campaigns through media outlets, local administrations, and community networks are underway to keep residents informed of updates and precautionary measures.

—

Rain and Snowfall Expected in Punjab, KP, and Balochistan as Ramazan Begins As Pakistan prepares to welcome the holy month of Ramazan, the Meteorological Department has issued warnings of rain and snowfall across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Balochistan.
