Helping Flood Victims Is Everyone’s Responsibility — Dr. Zee Khan
Dr. Zee Khan has called on citizens, government institutions, and international organizations to recognize their shared responsibility in helping flood victims. Speaking at a community event, he stressed that the devastation caused by recent floods is beyond the capacity of any single group to handle alone, and only collective action can bring lasting relief to those affected.
According to Dr. Khan, thousands of families have lost their homes, livelihoods, and access to basic necessities. He emphasized that while immediate relief efforts like food, shelter, and medical care are crucial, long-term strategies must also focus on rebuilding infrastructure, restoring agriculture, and preparing for future climate-related disasters.
He urged the government to prioritize disaster management policies and strengthen coordination with non-governmental organizations and local communities. At the same time, he appealed to ordinary citizens to contribute in any way possible, whether through donations, volunteer work, or raising awareness.
Dr. Khan highlighted that climate change is intensifying the frequency and severity of natural disasters in Pakistan. He warned that without sustainable planning and strong community support systems, future floods could be even more catastrophic.
