UAE Offers Free Breast Cancer Testing at 86 Locations

n a major public health initiative, the United Arab Emirates has announced free breast cancer testing at 86 designated locations across the country. The move is part of nationwide awareness campaigns marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month, aiming to promote early detection and save lives.

Focus on Early Detection

Health authorities highlighted that breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers among women in the region. However, if detected early, survival rates are significantly higher. The free screenings are therefore intended to encourage more women to undergo regular checkups without financial concerns acting as a barrier.

“Early diagnosis can make all the difference,” said a senior official from the Ministry of Health and Prevention. “Our goal is to reach as many women as possible and remind them that timely screening can be life-saving.”

Locations Across the UAE

The 86 locations include government hospitals, specialized health centers, and mobile clinics set up in both urban and rural areas. By expanding coverage, authorities aim to ensure that women across all emirates—including remote communities—can access the free service conveniently.

Mobile screening units are also being deployed in public spaces, malls, and community centers to encourage walk-in participation.

Community Awareness Campaigns

Alongside the screenings, awareness drives are being conducted to educate the public about risk factors, prevention methods, and the importance of self-examination. Educational workshops, seminars, and media campaigns are running in parallel to reach a wider audience.

Public Response

The initiative has been widely praised by community members and healthcare professionals alike. Many residents view it as a critical step in reducing the stigma around breast health discussions and encouraging women to prioritize their well-being.

“I’ve been postponing my checkup for months, but now that it’s free and easily available, I’ll definitely go,” said one resident in Dubai.

Looking Ahead

The program is expected to run throughout the awareness month, with plans to expand similar initiatives in the future. Authorities are urging all eligible women to take advantage of the opportunity and undergo testing, emphasizing that proactive health checks are the most effective defense against breast cancer.
